Marburg virus disease in Ethiopia
As of 12 December 2025, the Ministry of Health in Ethiopia have reported 14 confirmed cases of Marburg virus disease with nine deaths. As of 5 December the UK FCDO advises against all but essential travel within 5km of the towns of Jinka and Hawassa due to the ongoing Marburg outbreak.
