Hantavirus in Argentina

As of 8 February 2026, 19 cases of hantavirus have been reported in Argentina since the start of the year. This brings the total number of cases reported since July 2025 to 79. The Centro and South regions have been most severely affected. Please see UKHSA guidance for more details on hantavirus.

As of 20 November 2025, 66 cases of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (including 21 deaths) have been reported in Argentina during 2025. The Central Region has reported 64% of cases. Please see UKHSA guidance for more details on hantavirus.
